The midface fat is organized into superficial and deep compartments, with medial and lateral divisions, and the compartments deflate at different rates. This uneven volume loss contributes to descent of the cheek. Dr. Kim places product in the specific compartments that have lost volume, which restores the contour and provides a subtle lift.
Product is matched to the layer: highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid, RADIESSE or Sculptra, chosen according to the compartment, the patient's anatomy and the desired result.
Volume is restored in stages. Dr. Kim does not overcorrect at the first session, and additional sessions are planned as needed to reach a natural result. Facial fat transfer is an alternative for a longer-lasting correction.
